On Sunday June 14th at about 2:23 pm. a City of Hemet Police Officer was flagged down by an attempted carjacking victim in front of the Police Dept. The victim was bleeding from a cut on his forehead and advised that a male suspect had just attempted to steal his vehicle in the 100 block of N. Ramona St. The victim fought off the suspect and drove to the police dept.
As the victim was providing the officer with a description of the suspect, other officers responded to the area to look for the suspect. At about the same time, dispatch began receiving calls about a male suspect fighting with people in the 100 block of N. Palm St. Officers located the suspect and attempted to detain him however; he resisted the officers. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The suspect was positively identified as the attempted carjacking suspect and was also positively identified as the suspect from another robbery that had occurred earlier in the day in the 1900 block of W. Florida Ave. Neither victim was seriously injured.
