Hemet Police investigating fatal traffic collision.
On Saturday, November 9th 2014 at about 11:16 pm, the City of Hemet Police Dispatch Center began receiving calls about a roll over traffic collision in the area of Domenigoni Pkwy., east of Searl Pkwy. All available police units responded to the scene and located a single Hyundai SUV that had rolled multiple times, ejecting multiple passengers from the vehicle. Several occupants were critically injured and one of the occupants was airlifted to a local hospital. All six of the occupants were transported to local hospitals where two succumbed to their injuries, three are listed in stable condition, and one has been released to their home.
Hemet Police Traffic Investigators were called in to take over the investigation. The investigation is still ongoing but preliminary investigation revealed that the SUV had been occupied by five young adults and one juvenile. The vehicle was travelling westbound on Domenigoni Pkwy. from State St. and is believed to have been traveling in excess of 65 MPH. For reasons unknown at this time, the vehicle began swerving from side to side and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle rolled numerous times off the north edge of the roadway and several people were ejected from the vehicle. At the time of this writing, it is unknown if alcohol was a factor in this collision.
The names of the driver and occupants of the vehicle are being withheld at this time pending notification of their families.
