Hemet Detectives Arrest Suspects in ATM Theft
On 04/11/2014 at approximately 0255 hours, Officers from the Hemet Police Department responded to an alarm call at 1800 E. Florida Ave. Arriving Officers found that the ATM Kiosk had been ripped from its foundation and stolen. Detectives from the Hemet Police Department responded to the area and assumed the investigation. After reviewing the bank’s security tapes, detectives learned that multiple male suspects used a large white box van to rip the ATM from its foundation and haul it away. The Victim later advised Detectives that the machine contained a large amount of US currency when it was stolen.
Further investigation revealed at least 2 similar attempted thefts of ATM machines that had recently occurred in the city of Eastvale. Hemet Detectives consulted with Detectives from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station and developed several investigative leads from the previous attempted thefts in Eastvale. Information from both cases, led Hemet Detectives to focus on an apartment in the city of Riverside.
On 04/15/14 while conducting an operation in the city of Riverside, Hemet Detectives (with assistance of the Riverside Police Department) located and arrested the following suspects:
