On 11/19/13 at about 2:53am, Hemet K9 Officer Matt Gomez was traveling N/B on San Jacinto Street when a 2003 GMC Sierra truck traveling E/B on Oakland Avenue failed to stop at the intersection and nearly collided into Officer Gomez.
Officer Gomez then pulled in behind the pickup and noted it did not a have a rear license plate. Officer Gomez initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle immediately sped off E/B on Oakland Avenue.
A pursuit was initiated with the vehicle accelerating to 60 MPH in a residential zone and failing to stop for traffic signs. The vehicle continued E/B on Park Avenue then onto the north dirt shoulder adjacent to the fence line.
The vehicle stopped on the north dirt shoulder just before Cornell Street and the driver, later identified as Marcus Saul, fled on foot. Four other occupants in the truck were detained.
A loaded handgun magazine was located in the vehicle. The detained occupants told officers that the driver ran from the vehicle with the handgun. The vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle out of RSO - Temecula.
Saul jumped over a block wall of a residence on Grand Teton Street. He was subsequently located by Hemet PD K-9 Jack in the 2700 block of Grand Teton Street.

Marcus Allen Saul, 29 year old resident of the Santa Rosa Indian Reservation.
Charges: Felony Pursuit, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Vehicle Theft, and Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearm or Ammo.
Jessica Hamilton, 33 year old resident of Hemet.
Charges: Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Probation Violation, and Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearm or Ammo.
Jacklyn Delatorre, 23 year old resident of Los Angeles.
Charges: Misdemeanor Warrant and Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearm or Ammo.
Daniel Salgado, 30 year old resident of Hemet.
Prohibited Person in Possession of Firearm or Ammo and Probation Violation.
