On 10-19-13, at about 1:31am, two Hemet Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates in the 300 Block of S. Girard Street. They contacted the driver and soon suspected he may be DUI.
Officers requested the driver perform some standard Field Sobriety Tests and asked him to step out of the vehicle. Once out, the driver violently attacked officers and a physical fight ensued.
The driver, later identified as Edward Negron-Mora, continued to fight as other officers responded to the scene. Negron-Mora was finally taken into custody and transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the confrontation. He was later booked into Riverside County Jail following treatment. Two officers also sustained injuries, but are expected to return to full duty very soon.
A loaded firearm was located near-by along with approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. The weapon, not registered to Negron-Mora, was not listed as a stolen handgun but officers are following-up to find out who the true owner of this weapon is.
Charges requested against Edward Negron-Mora:
Felony Threats with Violence Against Police Officer
Felony Battery Against Police Officer
Possession of Concealed Firearm
Ex-Felon in Possession of Firearm & Ammunition
