[ARCHIVED] Broken Window Call Results in Arrest

Julio Urita Hemet Police Arrest

On August 2, 2013, at 10:22 PM, Hemet PD dispatch received a call of from an person reporting a "broken window to the front of the location" to a business in the 600 block of E. Florida Ave.

Upon officers arrival they confirmed the front door to the business was shattered. Several Officers along with a K-9 checked the interior of the business but did not locate anyone inside. Other assisting Officers were conducting an area check when a citizen/witness flagged down an Officer at Weston Park stating that he had witnessed a male break second window to a business nearby. He witnessed this male enter and exit the business several times. Officers confirmed two burglaries had been committed. The male suspect was last seen walking south on Thompson Ave from Florida Ave. A description of the male suspect was put out over the radio and officers flooded the area. Officers located a subject who matched the description of the burglary suspect in the 100 block of S. Buena Vista. He was ultimately identified and arrested for both burglaries. The property that was taken was released back to the business owners.

The suspect was arrested for burglary and later identified as, Julio Urita who is currently on probation.
