HEMET POLICE ANNOUNCE ANNUAL AWARDS
The Hemet Police Department pleased to announce the recipients of annual awards for outstanding work performed in 2012. Police Chief Dave Brown announced the awards at a special dinner hosted by the Hemet Elks Lodge on Saturday June 8th. The banquet was attended by police department employees, officers, volunteers and their families as well as city council members Linda Krupa, Bonnie Wright and Mayor Pro-Tem Larry Smith. After the ceremony Smith said, “We need to make a point to talk more about the great work this police department does out there every single day.”

LIFE SAVING MEDAL:
Officer Dave Purcell
Saved a 93-year-old woman after falling at home and not being seen for 3 days.

Rescued potentially armed passengers from a burning car after a violent crash.
POLICE STAR OF MERIT:
Officers Danny Caballero and Bryan Cunningham
For their decisive actions stopping the threat of a suspect armed with a knife and axe after numerous attempts to get his compliance.
POLICE CROSS FOR BRAVERY AND HEROISM
Officers Susanna Barron and Tim McGinnis
For their decisive actions stopping the threat of an AB 109 Probationer wanted for car-jacking and shooting, after being fired upon.
