Robbery Suspect Arrested
On Friday, April 26 at about 7:34PM, Hemet Police Officer Klinzing was in the area of the 300 block of N State St when he observed a male running from an open business. The male, later identified as Carlos Haro, had a handkerchief about his face. Officer Klinzing attempted to stop Haro. Haro fled on foot and dropped a knife.
As additional officers responded to assist Officer Klinzing, Haro ran into a residence located in the 100 block of W Latham Ave. The residents ran out indicating someone just ran inside. Officers entered and located Haro hiding inside the residence. Haro resisted officers, but was taken into custody.
The police investigation revealed Haro entered the business and used a knife to stab merchandise while demanding money. Haro approached the victim employee, slashed the victim’s arm with the knife and continued to demand money. The victim, in fear, complied with Haro’s demands. Haro fled out the store with the knife.
The victim did not desire medical attention. The money and knife were recovered by police. The money was returned to the victim.
Carlos Haro, 50 years old of Hemet, was arrested for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and a violation of parole warrant. Haro was transported to Riverside County Jail where he was held on no bail.
