On 02/06/13 at 12:53 am, Hemet Police Officer Matt Hiatt saw a red truck attempting to evade him in the 100 block of S. Sanderson Avenue. Officer Hiatt attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to yield. Officer Hiatt was able to run the license plate and it returned as a stolen vehicle to this agency the evening prior.
Officer Hiatt and additional officers pursued the stolen vehicle throughout the city until it headed towards the west end of the city. The vehicle yielded at a gas station near Menifee Road and Hwy 74. Two suspects were taken into custody without incident.
