On 02/02/13 at 6:12pm, Hemet Police dispatch received a call of a bomb threat at 158 S. Buena Vista St., Hemet. The caller advised that a male subject, later identified as Jacob Fetchko, was still at the location.
The caller said the man was threatening to blow up the building and kill children at the Youth For Christ Church. During this time, there was a hip hop concert at the church with numerous teenagers in attendance.
Hemet Police officers arrived and detained Fetchko. The church and surrounding residences were evacuated due to the initial threats and statements Fetchko made to responding officers regarding a bomb at the church.
Riverside County Sheriff's Dept. Hazardous Device Team responded to assist in the investigation. After checking the church and surrounding area, no device was found.
Jacob Fetchko 18 years old of Hemet was arrested for the following charges:
