Four Arrested Following Burglary at Hemet Home
Firearms Stolen in the Burglary Recovered
On 11-28-12, at approximately 9:00am, Hemet Police Officer Bryan Anderson responded to a call of four (4) suspicious subjects walking around residential yards and looking at property on Park Avenue in Hemet.
Upon Officer Anderson’s arrival, he saw two males jump over a fence out onto Park Avenue from one of the backyards of a nearby residence. Officer Anderson contacted the two and located a firearm on one of them. The officer could see two additional subjects walking briskly away. While walking away, the officer saw them discarding property they had on them. Additional Hemet Police officers responded to the area.
As other officers arrived on-scene, the two jumped a wall into a near-by housing tract and then started running through yards while tossing property. Officers pursued the two and soon took one of them into custody. Stolen property was located on this subject and officers returned to pick up the items discarded as he ran.
Knowing that an additional subject was still outstanding, officers started a yard-to-yard search for him. The remaining subject was located hiding on the side of a residence in the 2600 block of Grand Teton. Like the others, this subject also had stolen property on him.
Officers learned that the subjects had broken into a home in the 300 block of Purdue Court. All of the victim's property was recovered, to include two (2) firearms. The four (4) suspects were arrested and will be charged with burglary and conspiracy.
