Boards, Commissions and Citizen Oversight Committee
The City of Hemet has various Boards, Commissions and the Measure U Citizen Oversight Committee, made up of local residents, that provide input to some of our City departments and activities. Citizens have an opportunity to participate in the implementation of local policies by serving on an advisory board, commission and committee. If you are a resident of the City of Hemet or its sphere of influence and would like to volunteer to be a member of a City Board, Commission or Committee, please complete the Advisory Body Application (PDF). All meetings of the City’s Boards and Commissions are open to the public. The City of Hemet welcomes your participation.
The Maddy Act, Government Code 54970, requires that the City of Hemet post the following appointment list on an annual basis by December 31.

UPCOMING VACANCY FOR THE PLANNING COMMISSION, HEMET PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES, AND MOBILE HOME RENT REVIEW COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Hemet is currently conducting recruitment to fill eight (8) vacancies on the City’s Planning Commission, Hemet Public Library Board of Trustees, and Mobile Home Rent Review Commission:
Two (2) Planning Commissioners – Term Expiring in April, 2022
Two (2) Hemet Public Library Board Trustees – Term Expiring in June 2023
One (1) Mobile Home Tenant Representative Commissioner – Term Expiring in March 2023
One (1) Mobile Home Park Owner Representative Commissioner – Term Expiring in March 2023
Two (2) At-large City Resident Representatives Commissioners – Term Expiring in March 2023
Those interested in applying must submit an application to the City Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on April 9, 2020. Recruitment will remain open until filled. An application for appointment can be requested from the City Clerk’s Office, City of Hemet, 445 E. Florida Ave., Hemet, CA 92543, telephone number (951) 765-2307 or on the City’s website at the following web address: hemetca.gov/AdvisoryBodyApplication.
Interviews with the City Council are anticipated to take place in April 2020 prior to a regularly scheduled City Council Meeting. The City Clerk’s Office will confirm the date and time of the interviews with the applicants.
